About EHS
EHS provides services to the campus community through the following structure:
- Biological Safety
The Biological Safety section is responsible for Biosafety, Food Safety and Pool Safety.
- Environmental Management
Environmental Management has two groups:
- The Hazardous Material Services group provides all of the services in the Hazardous Materials Program area and shares duties with Industrial Hygiene in the Chemical Safety Program.
- The Environmental Compliance Services group provides all of the services in the Environmental Issues Program with the exception of Asbestos and Lead.
- Industrial Hygiene/Occupational Safety
Industrial Hygiene/Occupational Safety is split into two groups:
- The Industrial Hygiene group provides most of the services in the Workplace Safety program, shares duties with Hazardous Material Services in the Chemical Safety program, and provides the Asbestos and Lead portions of the Environmental Issues program area.
- The Occupational Safety group is responsible for the Fire Safety, Life Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, and part of the Workplace Safety program areas.
- Radiation Safety
The Radiation Safety section is responsible for the Radiation Safety program
area.
- Training and Administrative Support
EHS has a Training Coordinator who schedules classes and can make arrangements to meet special training needs of individual departments. Administrative staff provides clerical and computer support to the rest of the department.
