Peter has been Director of EHS since September 1999. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Carleton College and a Master's degree in Environmental Health from the University of Minnesota. Prior to coming to MU, he oversaw the EHS hazardous waste program at the University of Illinois for over 17 years. He is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM). He has served in various leadership capacities with the Campus Safety Health and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA), for which he is currently Treasurer, and the American Chemical Society's Division of Chemical Health & Safety.
In his spare time Peter enjoys playing duplicate bridge (ACBL Life Master), biking, and visiting state and national parks.
