Getting to EHS


EHS has two locations on the MU campus: Research Park Development Building (RPDB) and the Resource Recovery Center (RRC). For public transportation options please visit the City of Columbia Public Transportation website.

 

Research Park Development Building

Due to a permanent barrier on Providence Road limiting access, traveling to the Research Park Development Building depends on approach. Updated directions to this building may be found below:

  • Heading South on Providence from the intersection of Stadium Blvd. and Providence Road.
  • Go under the pedestrian bridge and turn right on Research Park Drive. This road goes to Simmons baseball field. If you look closely, you will also see a wooden sign for Environmental Health & Safety.
  • The Research Park Development Building is the building on the left at the top of the hill.
  • There is a standard campus sign at the entrance to the parking lot that reads "Research Park Development".
  • Visitors must possess, and display a valid University parking permit in their vehicle. See Parking at Research Park Development Building for information on where you may park. Failure to display or acquire a parking permit may result in a citation and violation fee from MU Parking and Transportation Services. (There are three marked visitors spaces the near the building. Use of these spaces is at the discretion of EHS.)
  • Heading North on Providence.
  • Turn left at the stoplight near the Hinkson Creek Bridge at the bottom of the hill. This intersection is located directly adjacent to the Reactor Field Parking Lot (RP10).
  • Turn left onto the outer road and then make a right onto Reactor Park Drive (at the SE corenr of RP10.
  • Follow Research Park Drive .6 miles (you will go past the reactor then through a 4 way stop) until you reach the Research Park Development Building (on the right) at the top of the hill.
  • There is a standard campus sign at the entrance to the parking lot that reads "Research Park Development".
  • Visitors must possess, and display a valid University parking permit in their vehicle. See Parking at Research Park Development Building for information on where you may park. Parking at Research Park Development Building

  • If you have a current, valid University parking permit (not a commuter parking pass), you may park anywhere in lot RP-2 (shown in light blue on the map below).
  • If you have a current, valid University commuter parking permit, you may only park in the lot on the opposite side of Research Park Drive (shown in pink on the map below).
  • If you do not possess a University parking permit, a temporary parking permit can be purchased from the EHS front office staff at current temporary permit rates.
  • There are three visitors spots near the building which do not require a permit, however use of these spaces is at EHS' discretion.
  • Failure to park in the appropriate lot with a parking permit or to acquire a temporary parking permit may result in a citation and violation fee from MU Parking and Transportation Services.

To get to the Resource Recovery Center:

  • Heading East or West on Stadium Boulevard, turn on Ashland Road north at the stoplight.
  • Turn right on the first asphalt paved road (East Campus Drive) at the top of the hill.
  • This road bisects two large commuter parking lots.
  • Follow the road clockwise around the parking lot on your right.
  • The Resource Recovery Center will be to your right at the east side of the commuter parking lot.
  • (The Resource Recovery Center is a series of tan metal buildings.)
  • There is a standard campus sign at the entrance to the parking lot that reads "Resource Recovery Center".

  • Heading South from College Avenue turn East onto Rollins Street.
  • Continue on Rollins Street .2 miles until you reach East Campus Drive, where you will turn South.
  • Follow East Campus Drive .4 miles past the Veterinary School and Animal Science Research Center until you reach the stop sign directly adjacent to the commuter parking lots.
  • Turn left onto East Park Loop and then take an immediate right which will lead you around the edge of the commuter parking lot.
  • Follow this road ~200 feet which will lead you directly to the Resource Recovery Center.
  • There is a standard campus sign at the entrance to the parking lot that reads "Resource Recovery Center".
