The purpose of this class is to enable students to gain an understanding of lead bearing substances policy, health effects, operational sources, detection, work practices, controls and resources. All personnel that interact with existing campus building materials (demolition, renovation, maintenance, repair, etc.) need to attend this class.
The purpose of this class is to enable the student to gain an understanding of asbestos health effects, locations of Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) or Presumed Asbestos Containing Material (PACM), recognition of ACM danger or deterioration, housekeeping requirements, and proper response to fiber release episodes. All housekeeping, mechanics, and maintenance personnel need to attend this class annually.
Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor Initial
This course will train and certify your employees to become Asbestos Abatement Contractors/Supervisors. Techniques for asbestos removal and packaging for appropriate disposal according to the regulations will be taught. Other topics covered will include, but not be limited to: proper personal protective equipment (PPE) use, air monitoring, health effects, medical monitoring, legal and insurance issues, safety and health considerations, and heat stress. Continued certification requires attendance once with 8-hour annual updates.
Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor Refresher
This 8-Hour refresher course will provide an annual update for all currently certified Asbestos Abatement Contractors and Supervisors. This review will include, but not be limited to, asbestos identification, health effects, personal protective equipment (PPE), air and bulk sampling, general operational review, new technology, and regulations. Certification renewal on an annual basis.
