Air Emissions

Air Emissions involves emissions of contaminants to the outdoor environment. For information on indoor environments see our web page on Indoor Air Quality.

The University of Missouri - Columbia has been issued two Part 70 operating permits by MoDNR: one for the Power Plant and one for the rest of campus. The university campus has diverse emission sources including electrical generators, fuel storage tanks, and a medical and veterinary incinerator. Annually EHS submits an Emission Inventory Questionnaire summarizing campus air emissions.

All new sources of air emissions require a construction permit through MoDNR. Contact Todd Houts during the planning stage of the proposed project for guidance.
