Temporary Food Permits

If you or your organization will be serving food, even if catered, you will need a Temporary Food Service Operating Permit. Should you have any questions concerning the permit or if you need one, call the Sanitarian at Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).

Food sales and activities associated with the Missouri Unions (Brady Commons and The Memorial Union) need to contact the Missouri Union Reservation Office before contacting EHS. Please be aware that food related activities at different areas on campus may require additional information and registration. Please contact the Sanitarian for more information on different permit requirements.

Obtaining a Temporary Food Permit

There are two ways to obtain a temporary food permit:

  1. Call or visit the sanitarian at EHS with the necessary information (see below). A permit will be issued to you via e-mail.
  2. E-mail the following information to the Sanitarian and a permit will be issued via e-mail: Name of event, event date, event times, sponsoring person/organization, contact name, contact phone number, contact address, contact e-mail, event location and food/drink menu.

All information should be sent to the EHS Sanitarian who is located at EHS within the Research Park Development Building: Dick Fancher.

NOTE: If you are grilling, you will also need an Open Flame Permit. Click on Open Flame Permit in the Related Links above. Send to David Dorth AND Shawn McCollom.
