EHS 25th Anniversary Celebration

Did you know that EHS was established as an MU department in 1980? EHS is celebrating its 25th anniversary to promote its programs and to recognize the contributions many people have made to environmental health and safety at MU during this period of time.

Schedule of Events

The celebration will be held during July 11-14, 2005 as follows:

Monday (July 11) 10 am-2 pm: Tour EHS offices at the Research Park Development Building (directions). See EHS Training Facility and Resources, Displays on Radiation Safety, Asbestos, Food Safety, Fire Safety, Environmental Compliance, and more. Drop off your personal fire extinguishers if they need recharging (for a fee). Hands on fire extinguisher experience will also be available.

Tuesday (July 12) 10 am-2 pm: Tour EHS offices at the Resource Recovery Center (directions). See the Chemical Recycling Program, Storage Facilities for Unwanted Chemicals and Radioactive Materials, Handling of Fluorescent Lamps, Batteries, and more.

Thursday (July 14) 3 pm-4 pm: Recognition Ceremony at the Monsanto Auditorium in the Life Sciences Center. There will be presentations by key figures in EHS' history, and recognition of contributions of individuals and departments. Refreshments will follow.
