Pandemic Flu
Pandemic flu has received great attention from the media and government agencies. Many experts believe that a pandemic is likely to occur in the near future. MU has been monitoring national and international events to be as prepared as possible in the event that a pandemic does occur.
MU Preparedness Activities
MU's preparedness activities are based upon the MU Emergency Operations Plan, which was developed to address all types of emergencies. To more specifically address pandemic flu, MU has established a Pandemic Flu Assessment Team. Three subcommittees have been established to address the following business continuity issues: academic/student affairs, research issues and human resource issues. In addition, MU has been actively participating in local preparedness activities coordinated by the Columbia/Boone County Public Health Department.
