CPR and First Aid Training Classes
All CPR and First Aid classes are taught using the American Red Cross standards by a certified instructor. Training is available to employees at the University of Missouri at no charge. Class size is limited to a maximum of 12 students.
After hours classes may be scheduled on a limited basis. A minimum of 8 students is necessary for all classes schedule outside normal EHS work hours.
Standard Adult CPR/First Aid
Course Length: 6 Hours

Upon successful completion of this course each student will be certified by the American Red Cross to perform Adult CPR and First Aid.
Course covers responding to emergencies, rescue breathing, unconscious and conscious choking, caring for heart attacks, Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, controlling bleeding, injuries to muscles, bones, and joints, and sudden illness.
This class is typically offered 10 months of the year.
Adult CPR
Course Length: 4 Hours

Upon successful completion of this course each student will be certified by the American Red Cross to perform Adult CPR.
Course covers responding to emergencies, rescue breathing, unconscious and conscious choking, caring for heart attacks, and Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. To sign up for this class only, register for a Standard Adult CPR/First Aid class on-line and then come to class. You can leave once the CPR portion is completed. The CPR portion will start at 8:30am.
CPR Renewal
Upon successful completion of this course each student will be recertified by the American Red Cross to perform Adult, Child, and/or Infant CPR procedures as required by the student. Recertification is required every year after initial CPR Certification.
Course includes responding to emergencies, rescue breathing, conscious and unconscious choking, adult, child, and infant CPR (as needed). This class is offered once a month. Individual training needs will be determined at the beginning of the class.
First Aid
Upon successful completion of this course each student will be recertified by the American Red Cross to perform First Aid procedures. Recertification is required every three years after initial First Aid certification.
Course includes bleeding control, injuries to muscles, bones, and joints, and sudden illness. To sign up for this class only, register for a Standard Adult CPR/First Aid class on-line and then come to class at 1:00pm, instead of 8:30am.
Infant and Child CPR
Course Length: 4 Hours

Upon successful completion of this course each student will be certified by the American Red Cross to perform Child and Infant CPR.
Course includes responding to emergencies, rescue breathing, unconscious and conscious choking, infant and child CPR. This class if offered once each in the fall and winter semesters.
