The purpose of this self-paced, online course is to introduce veterinary medicine Radiation Workers to the specifics of the Radiation Safety Program within the veterinary medicine department at Mizzou. The course content includes requirements and best practices for using radioactive materials as well as radiation generating devices (such as X-Ray equipment or the linear accelerator) in locations within the Veterinary Health Center (VHC). This course must be taken after completing EHS 490 Radiation Safety Training at Mizzou to become a Radiation Worker at the VHC.
EHS492 is hosted by EHS Assistant (EHSA) and can be found in the EHSA Training Portal. If the training course is not assigned to you, you can scroll through the list and take the course manually. This course must be completed once every three years. You must achieve a score of 80% or greater on your quiz to fulfill your training requirement.
