The purpose of this class is to enable the student to gain an understanding of asbestos health effects, locations of Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) or Presumed Asbestos Containing Material (PACM), recognition of ACM danger or deterioration, housekeeping requirements, and proper response to fiber release episodes. All housekeeping, mechanics, and maintenance personnel need to attend this class annually.
This course is hosted by HSI and can be found in EHS Assistant Training Portal. If the training course is not assigned to you it can also be found under "Additional Resources" in the HSI portal. The Asbestos Awareness course is comprised of one module: EHS610 Asbestos Awareness Training. You must complete the module and score at a minimum 80% on the assessment to receive credit for this course.
