The purpose of this class is to enable students to gain an understanding of blood borne pathogens (BBP), transmission, exposure potential, incidents, universal precautions, Hepatitis B vaccine, emergency releases clean-up, policy and available resources. This class is intended for laboratory personnel and investigators working routinely with human BBP and other potentially infectious materials. All BBP workers in biohazard laboratories or use areas must attend this training every year.

This course is hosted by HSI and can be found in EHS Assistant Training Portal.  If the training course is not assigned to you it can also be found under "Additional Resources" in the HSI portal.  The training should take about 20 min to complete. The Bloodborne Pathogen course is comprised of one modules:  EHS220 Bloodborne Pathogen Training. You must the modules and score at a minimum 80% on the quiz to receive credit for this course.
