Chemical Safety for Laboratory Workers is a new course which replaces the combination of Chemical Management Online (CMO) and Introduction to Laboratory Safety training.  Chemical Safety for Laboratory Workers training is required for any person who works in laboratories where chemicals are used. The objective of this class is to explain general and MU-specific information regarding chemical and physical hazard identification, handling, disposal of hazardous (chemical) materials, personal protective equipment, and engineering controls.

This course is hosted by HSI and can be found in EHS Assistant Training Portal.  If the training course is not assigned to you it can also be found under "Additional Resources" in the HSI portal.  The training should take about 2 hours to complete. The Chemical Safety for Laboratory Workers course is comprised of five modules:  EHS301 Analyzing Hazards, EHS302 Working Safely, EHS303 Laboratory Safety, EHS304 Hazard Communication, and EHS305 MU Specific Chemical Safety Training.  You must complete all five modules and score at a minimum 80% on each assessment or quiz to receive credit for this course.
