The purpose of this self-paced, online course is to educate Radiation Workers assigned dosimetry on how to use their dosimeters. The course content includes the purpose of dosimeters, how to wear them in different scenarios, and a brief introduction to the ALARA program. This course is required every three years for any individual assigned a dosimeter but may also be assigned on an as-needed basis as part of the ALARA program.
For campus and veterinary workers, EHS480 is hosted by EHS Assistant (EHSA) and can be found in the EHSA Training Portal. If the training course is not assigned to you, you can scroll through the list and take the course manually. You must achieve a score of 80% or greater on your quiz.
For MUHC workers, EHS480 is hosted through the MUHC learning management system Cornerstone with a required completion date of April 30 every year. Log into Cornerstone, and search for the course "WBT 184 Dosimetry Training". You must achieve a score of 80% or greater on your quiz.
