The purpose of this class is to train employees whose work includes the use of hand and portable power tools to recognize the potential hazards associated with these tools' use and demonstrate proper procedures, which will enable them to avoid workplace accidents.  Tools to be covered include manual, electric, pneumatic, liquid-fueled, powder-actuated, and abrasive wheel tools.

This course is hosted by HSI and can be found in EHS Assistant Training Portal.  If the training course is not assigned to you it can also be found under "Additional Resources" in the HSI portal.  The training should take about 20 minutes to complete. The Hand and Power Tool Safety course is comprised of one module:  EHS732 Hand and Power Tool Training.  You must complete the module and score at a minimum 80% on the assessment to receive credit for this course.
