The purpose of this self-paced, online course is to give basic radiation safety training for research uses of radiation generating machines such as x-ray diffraction units, x-ray irradiators, and electron microscopes. Topics covered include basic radiation safety, radiation biology, and radiation dosimetry.

This course is hosted by HSI and can be found in EHS Assistant Training Portal. If the training course is not assigned to you, it can also be found under "Additional Resources" in the HSI portal. You should turn off pop-up blockers before clicking the link to begin the training. You will have three attempts to achieve a 80% or greater on your quiz. If, after the third attempt, you have not passed, additional in person training may be required.
