Personal Protective Equipment - Fundamentals (EHS740)

Course Length: 20 minutes Register

 

The purpose of this class is to enable students to gain knowledge of general personal protection equipment (PPE) available. Topics covered include basic PPE types, protection levels, limitations, material types, performance criteria, selection, use and care, hazard recognition, medical monitoring, policy, and resources available.

This course is hosted by HSI and can be found in EHS Assistant Training Portal.  If the training course is not assigned to you it can also be found under "Additional Resources" in the HSI portal.  The training should take about 20 minutes to complete. The Personal Protective Equipment Fundamentals course is comprised of one module:  EHS740 Personal Protective Equipment Fundamentals Training. You must complete the module and score at a minimum 80% on the assessment or quiz to receive credit for this course.

 

Personal Protective Equipment - Head Protection (EHS741)

Course Length: 20 minutes Register

 

The purpose of this class is to provide workers with high-level knowledge and skills regarding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the head.  Workers will learn to:

  • Recognize the value of PPE for the head
  • Identify common workplace hazards regarding the head
  • Describe the common characteristics of PPE for the head
  • Identify common types of PPE for the head
  • Describe the proper fit for PPE for the head
  • Explain how to care for PPE for the head
  • List employee and employer responsibilities regarding PPE for the head.

  • Identify common workplace hazards regarding for hearing
  • Describe the common characteristics of PPE for hearing
  • Identify common types of PPE for hearing
  • Describe the proper fit for PPE for hearing
  • Explain how to care for PPE for hearing
  • List employee and employer responsibilities regarding PPE for hearing

Hearing Conservation (EHS747)

Course Length: 20 minutes Register

 

The purpose of this class is to enable the student to gain an understanding of the health effects of noise, type and benefits of controls, proper fit, usage and maintenance of hearing protection, medical monitoring requirements, work site noise levels and controls to reduce and prevent damaging levels of noise exposure.

The Hearing Conservation course is comprised of one module:  EHS747 Hearing Conservation Training. You must complete the module and score at a minimum 80% on the assessment or quiz to receive credit for this course.

 

Respiratory Protection (EHS743)

Course Length: 20 minutes Register

 

The purpose of this class is to enable the student to gain an understanding of the proper use and care of the required or requested respirator, recognition of specific air contaminant hazards, and medical monitoring requirements. All employees are required to complete the training prior to wearing respirators at the time of the quantitative fit-test.

The Respiratory Protection course is comprised of one module:  EHS743 Respiratory Protection Training. You must complete the module and score at a minimum 80% on the assessment or quiz to receive credit for this course.
