Personal Protective Equipment

Some employees of the University are exposed to hazardous materials or hazardous situations during routine operations. Engineering controls (such as ventilation) are the first line of defense; however, engineering controls are not always feasible for some operations, or do not always completely control the identified hazards. In these situations, personal protective equipment must be used.

If you have questions about proper personal protective equipment, contact EHS. If necessary, EHS will have a University Industrial Hygienist conduct a hazard assessment to determine the correct protective equipment.

EHS works with the Campus Safety Committee to review fire hazards and incidents.
