Biological After-Action Report

An after-action report is an important part of incident planning. The purpose of the report is to summarize the incident and the response to the incident. The report also identifies areas of strength and weakness, as well as recommendations to help decrease the likelihood of a similar incident occurring and how to improve responding to that particular type of incident.

The report is prepared by the Accident Investigation Team at the conclusion of the investigation. Upon its completion it is provided to all interested parties. The Biosafety Professional works with the interested parties in evaluating and implementing any of the recommendations contained in the report.

A sample After Action Report and template is currently being developed for use.
