Air Emissions

Air Emissions involves emissions of contaminants to the outdoor environment. For information on indoor environments see our web page on Indoor Air Quality.

The University of Missouri has been issued two Part 70 operating permits by MDNR: one for the Power Plant and one for the rest of campus. The university campus has diverse emission sources including electrical generators, fuel storage tanks, and a medical and veterinary incinerator. Annually EHS submits an Emission Inventory Questionnaire summarizing campus air emissions.

All new sources of air emissions require a construction permit through MDNR. Contact environmental@missouri.edu during the planning stage of the proposed project for guidance.
