Radiation Generating Machines
Radiation generating machines (RGM) produce ionizing radiation when in operation. There are several types of on MU Campus. Examples include:
- Analytical: x-ray diffraction or fluorescence analysis equipment and electronic microscopes
- Research and Development (R&D):
experimental and novel uses of equipment that produce x-rays and x-ray irradiator systems - Diagnostic and Therapeutic:
conventional fluoroscopy/radiography, bone densitometry (DEXA), linear accelerators for radiation therapy, portable and stationary dental x-ray users, and CT scanners. These can be used for human, veterinary, or research uses.
